Both my sister and I are not ashamed to admit we are giant Harry Potter fans. Yes, we are 28 and 26 years old respectively, but we have read all the books numerous times, and seen all the films on their release day. So when Harry Potter World opened in 2010 at Universal Studios, Orlando it was pretty much top of our lists as next travel destination.
Hence, our first full day in the United States of America, we spent it wandering around Hogsmeade drinking Butterbeer, learning charms at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft of Wizardry and riding dragons around one of the greatest theme parks known to man (and his inner child).
We had been lucky enough to be given 2 passes to Universal Studios by an ex-workmate of mine, however they were 5 years old and we were pretty sure they would have expired. To our joyous surprise however, not only did the tickets gain us access into Universal, we were greeted by the most helpful and happy gentleman at the gate (we like to think he was the old man from Miracle on 34th Street!), who spent half an hour giving us the best tips and tricks to get the most out of our free tickets. He received an outstanding round of applause from everyone within earshot once he finished his advice. Number one on the list of coolest people we have met so far.
