I have found it. The greatest invention since sliced bread. People may have thought it was silly things like the cars, or the internet...but no. Alas, it is the combination of two of the most delicious things on earth - bacon, and maple syrup = Maple Bacon!
I'm sure many others have attempted this glorious meeting, however, I am yet to meet anyone so adept at it than 39 Cafe on Ponsonby Road. Whether it is the high quality bacon, or just the shear amounts of maple syrup the chef must drown the pig in, I've never tasted such bacony, mapley gloriousness in my life.
There were also some mushrooms, a potato and onion hash, and scrambled eggs on the plate too - but pfft, who cares.....there was bacon!!
